David, leading customers
to new paths
At the end of the lockdown, people from Montréal had enjoyed the feeling of freedom while cycling, and the huge network of bike lanes going through the megacity. A nice way to claim ownership of the city and its living areas. David is helping people as he did during the outbreak…

All year round, David Roy Proulx, 31 years old, “huge fan of cycling”, mixes his passion as the leader of the Decathlon Cycle at Eaton Center and his cycling trips for thousands of kilometers. “When the store was closed, we offer our customers the delivery of their sports items, with a bike, on a zones selection to help with a big smile (behind our mask), but we offer also a very quick delivery,” says David. A great success. “ With lots of satisfied customers, congratulations, acknowledgments, and a lot of emotions”.
Now we are free to cycle, and David is the leader of bike trips with regular customers and coworkers. “First, there is our Facebook group: Décacycle Eaton. We meet and cycle”. We are between 4 to 12 beginners and regular cyclists. The pelotons grow regularly. “Our mission is to offer more than a bike to our customers, we offer an after-sales service, guiding customers to practice to technical advises and mechanical support», adds David. “With his teams, he wants to help more people to discover the huge number of Montréal and his surroundings bike lanes”. On the main island of Montréal, nearly 100 000 people travel on a bike from October to… March..». The winter is very long in Quebec, bikes don’t get cold then. “ The basis is to have well-adapted tires in the winter and wear warm clothes,” says David. Montréal city has many kilometers of bike lanes, you can cycle 24h and all year round. The city is preparing new bike lanes for David and his customer’s pleasure.
